Below are the requirements for regaining currency for each of the USPA licenses. Please take a moment to see what you need to do to get up to date for this skydiving season.
A License | USPA A-license holders who have not made a freefall skydive within 60 days should make at least one jump under the supervision of a currently rated USPA instructional rating holder until demonstrating altitude awareness, freefall control on all axes, tracking, and canopy skills sufficient for safely jumping in groups | B License | USPA B-license holders who have not made a freefall skydive within the preceding 90 days should make at least one jump under the supervision of a USPA instructional rating holder until demonstrating the ability to safely exercise the privileges of that license. | C and D License | USPA C- and D-license holders who have not made a freefall skydive within the preceding six months should make at least one jump under the supervision of a USPA instructional rating holder until demonstrating the ability to safely exercise the privileges of that license. |

| | DZ Happenings | | Here is the scoop! Treeman and Stephan flew to Deland in the Caravan last week. They made some new friends, and a lot of jumps. Stephan, you look sharp in your new Bev Suit! Make sure you let people know how much you enjoy flying in it. Staff Day was held on March 1st. More than 40 people attended, expressing their interest in helping out at the DZ. All we can say is: WOW! It's no wonder we are the hottest DZ in the United States. The weather cooperated, and we flew loads Saturday and Sunday for fun jumpers and staff re-currency. |

| National Skydiving League | Four Way Tips John Hart, Team Fastrax Greetings All, Below is the fifth in a series of Four Way tips Team Fastrax is providing at the April Skills camp. Drills
A drill is a skydive in a format other than that of a competition dive. These are used to focus training on particular skill sets. Many teams use drill dives, particularly early in their training season. Some of the types of drills used are: · Stop drills · Speed drills Eye contact
Skydiving is a highly visual sport. Jumpers rely on vision to establish and maintain their positions relative to other jumpers and to communicate during the skydive. During a random transition, a jumper should: · Look across the formation. The more effectively you use your mirror as a reference point, the better you can maintain fall rate and stop in your exact, proper slot. · Look at the grips. Taking a moment to look at the grips you are taking will minimize the chances of fumbled grips. · Look into the formation. This will heighten everyone's awareness of when the formation is built and ready to be keyed, and will minimize the chances of level differences developing while jumpers are on grips.
Direct eye contact between teammates is an important part of keying formations. For instance, when building a Unipod, the inside center ensures the grips are built at the back of the formation, then looks up to the point to establish eye contact verifying the front grips are built. MESL Schedule Meet 'n' Greet - April 12 Meet 1 - May 24 Meet 2 - Jun 21 Meet 3 - July 19 Meet 4 - Aug 16 NSL Playoffs - Sept 20 - 21 Rain dates are the Sundays. If anyone has an interest in doing some 4-way this summer, feel free to contact me directly at
