At Start Skydiving we place our customers first in everything we do. This Work Stinks Boogie Update is meant to keep you informed about the events at the upcoming 2009 Work Stinks Boogie. Please take the time to email or call us with any comments that will improve this great event.

2009 Work Stinks Boogie 4-7 September Events

Start is about to ROCK!!!

Events are emerging as we get closer. More than 200 skydivers will be in attendance.

Below is a current schedule and our aircraft line up.

Friday September 4th

1. Joe Frolick will make 100 jumps to raise funds for the Cyanide Poisoning Treatment Coalition and a Fire Fighters seminar will be held while this is going on.

2. We kick off Big Ways with Guy Wright in the morning.

3. Raft Dives and hula hoop jumps.

4. There will be a free canopy piloting course with Team Fastrax Swoop founding member and PD pilot Ray Dutch. Don't miss out on this free world class coaching. Please email rayfalling@hotmail.com if you are interested in attending.

5. Evening Hot Air Balloon jumps.

6. Night jumps.

Friday evening we will have an awesome Classic Rock band, camp fire and a massive hog roast dinner.

Saturday September 5th

1. Starts with StartSkydiving,com Hot Air Balloon jumps and the sunrise 6:30am $14 slot loads.

2. Big Ways from 30 to 40 to 50 with Guy Wright.

3. Head Down Ohio state record attempts with World Record Holder Melanie Johnson and sidekick Brad Hunt.

4. CReW with John Hart and Team Fastrax.

5. Other Ways with John Woody and Niklas Hemlin.

6. Tube Jumps, Tube Jumps and Tube Jumps.

7. We will be setting the Ohio POPS state record on Saturday, you must have your POPS registration completed prior to the weekend.

8. There will be evening balloon jumps.

We cap off the evening with two great bands starting at 6pm, a massive hog roast, camp fire, Team Fastrax fireworks aerial display and a 30 minute fireworks show.

Sunday, September 6th

1. Starts with StartSkydiving.com Hot Air Ballon jumps and the sunrise $14 slots.

2. Big Ways from 30 to 40 to 50 Guy Wright.

3. Head Down Ohio state record attempts with World record holder Melanie Johnson and "the man" Brad Hunt.

4. Tube Jumps, Tube Jumps and Tube Jumps.

5. CReW with John Hart and Team Fastrax.

6. Other Ways with John Woody and Niklas Hemlin.

We cap off the evening with another great band, camp fire and a massive roasted chiken dinner.

Monday, September 7th

1. Starts with Startskydiving.com Hot Air Balloon jumps

Gripper Hot Air Balloon Jumps

Hot Air at Start Skydiving

Gripper will be flying high across Ohio during the Labor Day 2009 Work Stinks Boogie. We will be scheduling jumps for Gripper the mornings of the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th and the evenings of the 4th, 5th and 6th. Jumps will be from 4000' and cost $89.00 each. We can take two jumpers at a time in this incredibly fast balloon at 1800' per minute. Don't miss the chance to jump from Gripper at the Work Stinks Boogie.

You must pre manifest for the jumps by paying online. Manifest will develop the schedule and email you by the 30th with your date and time to jump.

Balloon Jumps are sold out! We have eight standby slots available for the mornings of Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Helicopter Jumps

Helicopter jumps require pre-manifesting

We are pre-manifesting the helicopter jumps for Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 12pm. If you are interested in jumping from the Enstrom's the lift tickets are $70 each and carry two jumpers at a time to 4500'. Contact us at workstinks@startskydiving.com and let us know which day and what time you would like to jump. You will be able to manifest jumps at registration.

Odds and Ends

Here is the scoop!

Fast Slots manifest list and calls are now "online"

We are excited to introduce our PC and mobile based sites for reviewing the manifested loads and calls. Now you can easily look up information on the calls or check and see what slots are available online. You can filter the information by name, aircraft or pilot. Bookmark this address http://manifest.startskydiving.com and start enjoying the convenience of this new feature.

There will be four Fast Slots machines available for your use at the Boogie. You will receive instructions on how to use Fast Slots in your registration packet. Organizers will be manifesting all organized loads.

Registration Opens on September 3rd

Registration will be located north of our hanger by the Team Fastrax trailer and truck and will be open Thursday at noon for those arriving early. You can sign up for organizing at the registration desk.

You will receive the DZ rules, event layout, event schedule, T-shirt and your Fast Slots card. You can purchase your discounted meal and beer tickets at this time.

Banking

There is an ATM located in our main hanger. We accept all major credit cards and will not charge you a fee to use them at Start Skydiving. We do not accept personal checks.

RV Hookups

Because of demand, we have added 10 additional 30amp RV electrical hookups at $125.00 for the event. Please email gene@startskydiving.com to reserve a slot.

BBQ Dinners

You don't want to miss out on the incredible dinners that will be served each night at the Boogie. Pit-to-Plate BBQ will be roasting sweet corn, several hogs and chicken for the meals in addition to multiple side to choose from. There will be dishes for those of you who are vegetarians. Please let us know so we can accomodate your needs.

We will be selling meal tickets at registration for $12.00. You can purchase the meal each evening for $15.00. It would help us out a lot if you let us know if you plan to participate in the evening meals by emailing us with the dates you plan to eat dinner at workstinks@startskydiving.com

Beer Sales

The Thank You Foundation will be operating the beer trailer at this years Boogie. Beer tickets can be purchased at the registration desk and main cashier for a discount, buy 10 get 12 for $20.00. You will receive a wrist band indicating you are 21 years of age and will be hand stamped once you purchase your first beer. Individuals that have been stamped will not be permitted on the plane. The stamps will change each day and beer sales begin at noon each day.

Norman Kent to attend Work Stinks

Even Norman Kent knows Work Stinks! He plans to be here working on a project with Team Fastrax and will be available for your group to jump with throughout the event. Norman Kent is by far the best aerial videographer in our sport.
